Parish safeguarding policy
This can be found on the downloads page. It is renewed by the PCC annually (at its May meeting). The PCC's Safeguarding Officer's is Moya Cozens. The PCC's safeguarding statement may be seen here.

The rota for July - December 2019 has been published: see here.

IMPORTANT - REFUGEE CHILDREN: please see this appeal; thank you. Some from our parish and deanery went to this meeting. God willing, much will come of it..

The Parish Giving Scheme, the modern way to support St. Mary's, is up and running. It costs 125 a day to run our church, which money is very well and carefully spent. You can help! Please contact our Treasurer.

Apologies for any confusion being caused by the change of host for this site. Work is continuing but a new web site is coming!

Welcome to the website of St Mary's Church.

The church stands at the centre of the beautiful village of Buriton and serves the communities of Buriton, Nursted, Weston and Ditcham.  We come together as a church community week by week to worship God and to celebrate the Eucharist.  The Church is open every day. Everyone is welcome, whether to come and pray, to admire the architecture or just to sit and soak up the peace of this ancient building where people have worshipped God for over 800 years. Daily prayers are offered for the people of our community. Our principal service each Sunday is the Eucharist which begins at 10am. Elsewhere on this site you will find the details of our other special services and events. Everyone is welcome at all our services.

St Mary's is part of a group ministry shared with St Peter's in Petersfield, whose Vicar is also our Rector.

We would be delighted for you to visit the church or to join us for worship.

The Revd. Judith Bee

Parish Priest

A brief site description.  The church dates from the 12th century.  It was the mother church for the local area until the late 19th century  The church description will give you a good idea of some of its more obvious features, a modern one of which is the millennium window.  The annual church meeting (APCM) report for last year summarizes many of its last year's activities;  please contact any of those mentioned if you would like to get involved.  The monthly pew sheet gives all of the topical information.  Casting a slightly wider net, The Rock is the excellent newspaper of the group ministry - a good read if ever there was one!  The people and links page is self evident as are those for the services, stop press, feedback and things of interest.  The What's on page promotes some, intentionally all, of the planned activities.

My apologies if some pages on this site seem to be a little odd on the latest version of Internet Explorer or Firefox.  A solution is being worked on (but slowly, I'm afraid).  Some of the downloads might have to be copied first if you want to print them.
